Fenerbahce president Aziz Yildirim has spoken to Sporx about Manchester City’s interest in Oguz Kaan Guctekin.

The 18 year old midfielder is highly rated by Fenerbahce manager Aykut Kocaman, and he’s been giving the youngster a chance to shine during preseason.

During the interview with Sporx, Yildirim was asked about the young talents at Fenerbahce, including academy graduate Oguz Kaan. Manchester City have been linked with the young midfielder , with reports they’ve sent scouts to watch the player.

Aziz Yildirim confirmed to Sporx Manchester City are showing a strong interest in the player: “Oguz Kaan is 18 year old. Manchester City came in for him, and they’ve offered €5m for him, but we rejected the offer.”

Manchester City are no stranger to the Turkish transfer market, after they have signed Enes Unal from Bursaspor for a reported €2m fee in 2014. The Premier League side have since sold the player for a big profit to Villarreal, but have a buyback option on the forward.

A few weeks ago Manchester City also came very close to signing Cengiz Under from Basaksehir, after tabling a bid for the Turkey international, before eventually losing out to AS Roma.
