On Thursday, we covered a story from FCInter1908 looking at the situation surrounding Valentino Lazaro and his future at Newcastle United.
Long story short, the website explained the player’s desire was to return to Milan at the end of the season and try to turn things around with Antonio Conte.
This suggests that even if Newcastle do trigger the option to buy the player to try and keep him permanently, Lazaro would just say no and move back to Italy.
Well, Tuttosport back this up on Friday in their newspaper edition, explaining the defender’s wish is to return to the Serie A club.
They state ‘it isn’t known if Conte will give him another chance’, but even if he doesn’t, Inter aren’t worried.
The reason for that is the fact Lazaro’s reputation is still high in Germany because of his time at Hertha BSC, and he has a ‘big market’ there should the Italians decide they want to get rid of what they seem to now think was a poor investment.
You win some and you lose some, but it’s not looking good for Steve Bruce and co. if their wish was to keep the Austria international beyond this season.
