Over the past two weeks, we’ve covered reports that stated Arsenal and Manchester United were both interested in youngster Ezequiel Barco.
The original reports came from Portugal and were then backed up by Calciomercato.it, who stated the duo already had the 20-year-old ‘on their books’.
That’s a claim they further pushed today, once more stating that Arsenal and Manchester United are keen and ‘continue to monitor the boy.’
They also back up their earlier claims that the MLS side are looking to make a nice profit on Barco should they end up selling and now they have their asking price.
That’s the point the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United will have to start from if they’re keen, although Barco has a contract with the MLS side until 2022 so Atlanta are not in any rush to sell.
It’s suggested that a move next summer is more likely than in January, mainly as Italian clubs can’t register him until then as he doesn’t have an EU passport.
That could present Arsenal and Manchester United with an opportunity to move ahead of the competition, and now they know the minimum price they will have to pay.
