On January 29th, Tottenham Hotspur’s Yang Min-hyeok joined Queens Park Rangers on loan until the end of this season.

Last summer, Tottenham reached an agreement with Gangwon FC for the 18-year-old’s transfer, and he arrived in north London in January.

Ange Postecoglou didn’t include the winger in his plans and therefore, Tottenham let him join QPR on loan.

South Korea manager Hong Myung-bo has included Yang Min-hyeok in the squad for the upcoming international break. He announced the squad earlier today and has explained the reason for selecting the QPR man. Chosun have relayed his comments.

At QPR, Martí Cifuentes has used him as a right winger, and the South Korean played 297 minutes from seven matches, managing an assist in the process.

Hong Myung-bo wasn’t able to meet the attacker during his trip to London in January but has followed his performances for QPR since returning to the country. He believes Yang Min-hyeok can benefit from being with the national team camp in March.

On his decision to select the QPR player, he said: “I couldn’t meet him when I went there in January. At that time, Yang Min-hyeok was training at Tottenham but was not participating in matches.

“I couldn’t watch his games back then, but since coming to Korea, I’ve been keeping an eye on him playing for Queens Park Rangers.

“I’m not sure if he is fully performing the role desired by the team, but his momentary movements have not been bad. I think it would be good for him to join the national team, where he can increase his value and understand the direction of the national team better, which is why I selected him this time.”

Yang Min-hyeok was on the bench in South Korea’s win over Oman last September and could make his debut this month.
