Sabah claim Besiktas are set to sell Domagoj Vida to Wolverhampton Wanderers for a fee believed to be in the region of €18m.
Yesterday we covered earlier reports from the Turkish press that Wolves have switched their attention from Pepe to his club teammate Vida, and Sabah say the English club currently have an advantage over West Ham United and AS Monaco.
According to Sabah, despite Vida being linked with moves to Liverpool, Leicester, Everton and West Ham, the most concrete offer has come from Wolves, as the Premier League side edges closer to signing the Croatian centre back.
Wolves have been linked with a string of central defender in recent weeks, and Vida has been linked with a string of clubs.
It’s claimed Besiktas president Fikret Orman will now fly to England at the start of next week to finalise the deal with Wolves.
Vida impressed during this summer’s World Cup in France and was key in Croatia reaching the final of the competition. There had been claims of Besiktas wanting up to €30m, but €18m sounds more realistic.
There’s been so many claims about Vida in Turkey that it’s worth treating everything with caution, but the €18m makes this one seem more grounded to reality.
