Everton’s deal to bring Idrissa Gana Gueye back to Goodison Park on deadline day of the summer transfer window was worth €2.5m.

That’s according to Paris United, who back up reports in England regarding the figure Everton paid to re-sign the fan-favourite.

Gueye completed his return to Everton yesterday, joining the Blues on a two-year deal with the option of a third.

That brought an end to months of speculation about a move for the midfielder, with the deal on, off, on, and off again before finally being completed.

That has led to conflicting reports regarding the value of the transfer, with some reports in France putting the figure as high as €10m.

That conflicted with what was being said in England, though, with reports following the completion of the deal yesterday stating it was £2m.

That’s now been backed up in France, with Paris United reporting that, according to their information, ‘Gana Gueye’s transfer to Everton is estimated at €2.5 million.’

That falls perfectly in line with what has been said in England and is further indication that Everton may have pulled off a great deal to bring Gueye back.
