As widely reported by the Turkish media on Monday, Galatasaray are about to sign Tanguy Ndombele from Tottenham Hotspur.

It’s said that the Istanbul club are about to get him on a loan deal with an option to buy, and he’s set to arrive in the country tonight.

Now as Fotospor features an update on the situation, they talk about how big Ndombele’s salary is.

According to a source from Galatasaray, the Tottenham loanee is expected to have higher wages than Mauro Icardi, who’s the club’s biggest star.

Fotospor starts by explaining that the loan will have no fee, with no compulsory purchase option included, and Spurs will take on just €1m of his salaries.

The problem is that he makes around €12m a year at Tottenham, which means Galatasaray would need to spend €11m just on wages.

They’re still to see how the tax deduction will influence on the total amount spent by the Turkish player, but it’s well known that Ndombele will either be the best paid or the second best paid athlete in the squad.

That undoubtedly raises the expectations over the midfielder in Turkey, but if true, this is clearly great negotiating by Daniel Levy, whose aim will have been to offload as much of the player’s wages as possible.
