Despite Genoa wanting to keep their best players at the club until the end of the season, they may not have a choice if Tottenham come with a lot of money for Radu Dragusin.

The Romania international has been a target for a variety of Premier League clubs throughout the first half of the season, and the latest from TuttoMercatoWeb suggest Spurs will come knocking in January.

The website recall that Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou have agreed that the team needs a new centre-back in their squad in the next transfer window, and the Genoa star appears to be one of the names at the top of their list.

TuttoMercatoWeb state that the London club’s offer for the defender ‘is ready’, while competition from Atalanta isn’t quite that strong, because their valuation of the player doesn’t match what his club want for him.

His recent performances have ‘confirmed his goodness in the eyes’ of Spurs scouts, and it appears the €30m price tag isn’t scaring Tottenham off.

While Genoa don’t want to end up like Spezia, meaning selling a star player in January (Jakub Kiwior) and struggle to find a replacement until the summer, they may not have a choice.

Tottenham want Dragusin ‘now’ because of their own needs, and it’s made very clear they ‘have no money problems’.

Still, we have to wait and see whether ‘there is the intention to invest a large sum in the defender’ in the coming weeks, because despite his good performances, he still lacks some experience at the top level, with just 37 Serie A appearances to his name.
