Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilón is not on Barcelona’s list of options this summer, despite reports to the contrary.

That’s the stance presented by Sport, who dismiss reports that the Catalans could look at the Spaniard in their search for a left-back.

Earlier today, we covered a report from Mundo Deportivo that stated Reguilón had been offered to Barcelona, who are looking at various options to strengthen the left-back position.

The claim was that he was a backup option for those in charge at the Nou Camp should they be unable to sign Marcos Alonso from Chelsea.

Sport, though, say there is ‘no chance’ of it happening. They insist he is ‘not on Barcelona’s agenda’ and he will ‘never wear the Blaugrana shirt’.

According to their information, his name was crossed off the list of options months ago when Joan Laporta was warned about the move.

He was told Reguilón is a ‘fanatical’ Real Madrid fan, and there have been public displays of this.

That vetoed any possibility of a move every happening in future, even if Tottenham have made it possible.

Barcelona remain focused on Marcos Alonso, who, despite also being a former Real Madrid youth product, is not at the same level as Reguilón.

The Tottenham man, in their eyes, ‘continues to define himself as a passionate Real Madrid supporter.’

For this reason, the current Barcelona board will ‘never endorse’ a move, aware that there could be criticism from the media in future.

That leaves Reguilón looking for a different destination, with his agents Kia Joorabchian and Giuliano Bertolucci ‘looking for a new destination’ for him.

His name did not come up in a meeting with Barcelona yesterday, though, and any suggestion of a move to the Nou Camp is wide of the mark as far as Sport are concerned.
