Liverpool star Luis Díaz wants to make a switch to Barcelona, according to Sport journalist Alfredo Martinez.
The Colombia international has excelled for the Reds since joining them from FC Porto in January 2020.
Prior to his move to Liverpool, the La Liga side showed interest in the winger and this was revealed by Barca president Joan Laporta in November 2022.
Martinez claims the Catalan club intend to sign two or three players at most, as they don’t have a lot of funds at their disposal. He adds Barcelona will be looking to strengthen their midfield and the wide positions.
For the latter, the Liverpool attacker is seen as a target and it’s insisted he would like to arrive at the Camp Nou. Last November, Díaz’s father had revealed he dreams of making a switch to Barcelona.
The South American’s current deal at Anfield lasts until 2027 and the journalist says the Merseyside club ‘won’t make it easy’ for him to leave in the summer transfer window.
Real Betis’ Guido Rodríguez has a deal expiring in June and Barca have him on their list for the midfield. The journalist claims that if the Catalan club were to sign him for free, they will have more funds to invest on a ‘differential’ winger like the Liverpool star.
