It was a pretty quiet day in the Italian newspapers on Monday morning when it came to Olivier Giroud and his potential future in Italy, but the Internet has a lovely way of making sure things don’t go, you know, too quiet.

Calciomercato look at the situation of three Chelsea players who could end up at Inter, with the Frenchman top of the list.

They recall the fact Inter came relatively close to signing the player back in January until the Stamford Bridge club closed all their doors, but the willingness to negotiate was a positive.

As for what’s happening now, Calciomercato make it clear contacts between the Serie A club and Giroud’s agents are ‘alive’, but Chelsea are trying to make sure they don’t lose their striker on a free.

It’s stated they have made him a one-year extension offer, which FC Inter News claimed would happen, but the player rejected it as he’s looking for ‘at least one biennial project’.

With that in mind, Inter ‘remains at the window’, seemingly biding their time, waiting to see when the best time to pounce is and getting all their needed information through the player’s representatives.
