According to Sabah, Istanbul rivals Besiktas and Galatasaray are set to go head to head to sign Everton forward Cenk Tosun.

The Turkish striker joined Everton from Besiktas in 2018 but as yet hasn’t been able to establish himself at Goodison Park.

A move away from the Merseyside club could be a possibility this summer especially with the Toffees looking to sign Juventus youngster Moise Kean.

Tosun has spoken in the past about committing himself to the Premier League side but Kean’s impending arrival puts further doubts over the Turkey international’s future.

It’s reported the 28-year old is now keen to continue his career with Galatasaray because of the guarantee of Champions League football next season, yet his former club Besiktas are also making inquiries.

That makes it an Istanbul battle, and Besiktas will hope their past with the player helps.

Tosun scored three goals for Everton last season in the Premier League and is under contract with the club until June 2022.
