Earlier on Wednesday we covered claims from France that Manchester United are to sign AS Monaco youngster Hannibal Mejbri.

The Premier League club have been following the 16 year old for some time, and he, and his family, have been at war with the Ligue 1 side.

There’s been disagreement over whether Monaco truly have the youngster committed to a contract and it looked like the situation could rumble on.

However, RMC’s Loic Tanzi reported Manchester United have agreed to pay Monaco €10m for the player, which solved everything.

L’Equipe are now backing that up, with the French newspaper reporting Mejbri is set to travel to Manchester on Thursday.

They report the two clubs are close to agreeing a deal for the player which would be worth less than €10m, although it sounds like it would be close to that figure.

Bayern Munich have recently ‘positioned themselves’, along with Arsenal, so it looks like Manchester United didn’t want to risk losing the player, and are securing him ahead of the competition.
