‘His only choice is Liverpool’ – Talks already held, and transfer being planned for

Thiago Alcantara to Liverpool is turning into something of a saga.

When it was first reported in Germany that the Spaniard wanted to leave Bayern Munich, the Reds were pushed forward as the most likely destination. Initially, it looked like assumption, and perhaps Thiago picking the Reds out as his preferred destination.

Media closer to Liverpool dismissed the idea, and then later joined the claims of interest.

Bayern Munich want €30m and it’s clear Jurgen Klopp’s side haven’t been prepared to pay this yet. Manchester United were brought into the picture, and it’s unclear whether their interest is genuine or has been fabricated to put pressure on the Premier League champions.

Claims from Germany have gone relatively quiet, yet they continue to come from elsewhere, usually on social media. RMC’s Mohamed Bouhafsi today claimed, regarding Thiago, ‘his only choice is Liverpool’ and that talks have already been held with Klopp.

The midfielder is already planning for his move to England, according to Bouhafsi, but there’s still no agreement with Bayern.

Mundo Deportivo, covering old positive Thiago quotes from Marc-Andre ter Stegen, state things are ‘well advanced’ with Liverpool.

Despite all of that, and claims of an offer being imminent, there’s nothing concrete in the Germany media, other than kicking the same rumour down the road continually.
