Alexis Sanchez was supposed to be a Manchester City player at the end of the last transfer window. The Arsenal player was then supposed to sign for Pep Guardiola during the current transfer window, but now reports are pushing him closer to Manchester United.

Whilst there’s a whole queue of people trying to get attention and social media presence by claiming a deal is already agreed, the interest initially revealed by Gianluca Di Marzio certainly looks real.

What may have started as an attempt from Fernando Felicevich to pressure Manchester City into offering more, seems to have turned into a real chance for their United rivals to sign the Arsenal player.

Given all of this, we’ve pulled out a Chilean report from April which claimed Jose Mourinho had telephoned Sanchez about a potential move. Even then Guardiola interest was known, and the Manchester City manager was also said to be have been on the telephone, but the Chilean TV claims launched an idea in the country of Manchester United interest.

Mourinho was said to have told Sanchez he wanted him at Manchester United, and the claims seem to carry more weight now.

Perhaps this didn’t just start in the past week.
