On November 23rd, Mundo Deportivo reported Chelsea are one of the clubs chasing ‘great pearl’ Estevão Willian.

Earlier this month, Goal Brasil stated the Blues have opened talks to sign the Palmeiras young star.

Chelsea, Barcelona and others are in the race for the 16-year-old and Mundo Deportivo provides the latest on his case.

The winger dreams of making a switch to the Camp Nou but the La Liga aren’t making any moves yet because of their financial conditions. This has seen him start to ‘rethink his future’.

It’s claimed Mauricio Pochettino’s side are one of the clubs ‘exerting the pressure’ and are ‘willing to pay’ the youngster’s €60m release clause. Therefore, the Brazilian club want the player, who made his first team debut earlier this month, to make up his mind soon.

Mundo claim Estevão won’t be able to arrive in Europe until he’s 18 years of age in April 2025 and despite this, Palmeiras ‘want to close’ his sale now.

The report states the teenager’s father arrived in Europe in October, to learn first-hand about the sporting projects of some of the clubs interested in signing his son. Chelsea are among them and he also visited their training facilities.

Along with the West London club, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are also in the mix.

Estevão’s father has met with these clubs during his trip to Europe and with Barca out of the picture, the youngster has to make a decision on his next destination.
