Chelsea will be in the picture to sign Napoli star Victor Osimhen after this season.

That’s according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, who took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a short update about the Blues’ plans for the striker.

Galetti claims the 25-year-old is the priority target for Chelsea next summer and they are taking ‘concrete steps’ to secure his services.

On December 23rd, the Nigeria international signed a new contract [until 2026] with the Serie A winners. Galetti has insisted he won’t be leaving Naples this month but could be a market opportunity for the likes of the Blues and other clubs in the summer.

The journalist doesn’t mention whether the former Lille man is open to joining Chelsea, more so if they miss out on the Champions League. Mauricio Pochettino’s side are in 10th spot, trailing fourth placed Arsenal by 10 points.

That hasn’t stopped Chelsea from taking ‘concrete steps’ to sign the frontman.

Last month, Corriere dello Sport reported Osimhen’s new deal includes a clause worth between €120m and €130m for clubs outside Italy. In other words, Chelsea will have to spend big to acquire his services next summer.
