Chelsea have made their first offer to Barcelona for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang this morning with a bid of €15m plus bonuses.

That’s according to Partidazo Cope and journalist Pedro Morata, who say the Blues have submitted their first official offer for the striker.

Earlier today we covered various reports from Spain about an advancement in the negotiations between Barcelona and Chelsea for Aubameyang, who the Blues want as their new centre-forward.

He only arrived at the Nou Camp in January after leaving Arsenal on a free and has been a big hit at the club since.

However, he finds himself down the pecking order after the arrival of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich and that has opened the door to an exit.

Reports in Spain have made it clear that Barcelona would be happy to keep him but the prospect of a big profit and the removal of his wages from a stretched budget has led to an agreement from Xavi and his coaching staff that he can go.

That’s led Chelsea to push for a move and those reports today stated there had been an acceleration after Sunday’s heavy defeat to Leeds.

Partidazo now seemingly back that up, stating a €15m plus bonuses offer was submitted this morning and there is now a ‘negotiation underway’.

Whether that’s enough to convince Barcelona isn’t mentioned but the reports in Spain today stated they needed €20m to be able to register Jules Koundé, so it seems likely they will ask Chelsea for more.

Either way, the first official offer has now been submitted and this deal looks likely to be closed sooner rather than later now that it has.
