For those who might have forgotten, Loic Rémy is still a Chelsea player, and still has one year left on his Stamford Bridge deal.
The 30-year-old’s time with the Premier League champions appears to be coming to an end, and there’s still time for the Blues to recoup some of the £11.2m they spent on him three years ago.
Only making 47 appearances over three seasons, Rémy spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace where injuries meant his time on the pitch was limited to 283 minutes divided over eight appearances.
This is where Lazio apparently come in, with Citta Celeste claiming Igli Tare, the club’s director of football, could thinking about making a move for the former France international, who would be allowed to leave ‘nearly for free’ as Chelsea look to get rid of his ‘pharaonic’ contract.
After all, his agent is the same as Mario Pasalic’s, who is also currently linked with the Serie A side regarding a potential loan.
Lazio are keen on trying to find a solid backup for Ciro Immobile, and the former France international appears to be the new kid on the club’s wishlist.
We’ll be keeping an eye on this one over the next few days to see if there’s any developments.
