Even though Flamengo are still to advance in negotiations for Chelsea winger Robert Kenedy, there’s ‘confidence’ that the club will get the signing, according to reports.

Globo Esporte today features a story claiming that all the business the Rio de Janeiro side have been involved in should only be concluded at the end of the month, in the final days of the transfer window.

Regarding Kenedy, it’s said there’s ‘optimism’ for the move. Even though Flamengo officials haven’t travelled to London, the talks with his agent Giuliano Bertolucci have been positive.

The club are said to be counting on the player’s will, because even though he has approaches from European sides, his priority is to stay at Chelsea or move to Brazil.

Globo Esporte points out that due to Chelsea’s focus on the signing of Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan, the club are waiting to sort the situations of potential loans later. So Flamengo are being patient as they try to land Kenedy on a temporary move with a potential buying option.

The winger’s contract with the Blues runs until 2024.
