With Cesc Fabregas’ contract with Chelsea expiring next summer, it’s time for the transfer rumours to start showing up. And it’s no surprise that the Italian media get them going.

Website Calcio Mercato has an exclusive today saying the Spanish midfielder is unhappy at the Blues, especially for being kept on the bench by manager Maurizio Sarri.

So even though Roman Abramovich has some ‘special passion’ for the player and would offer him a contract renewal, it’s unlikely that Fabregas would accept a new commitment in these conditions.

The main reason why the Spaniard is being linked with a Serie A move is the long story of rumours he has with local clubs, especially AC Milan.

Calcio Mercato claims that Fabregas’ wish to leave Chelsea is a ‘clear message’ to Milan, and should be considered by club director Leonardo.

The Rossoneri were supposed to go after a younger midfielder, but with ‘Fabregas being Fabregas’, he should become an option for the next summer window.
