At the start of the week, we covered reports claiming that Shakhtar Donetsk are interested in signing Chelsea winger Robert Kenedy.

It was claimed by the Brazilian media that the Ukrainian side contacted the Blues to know about the possibility of landing the 25-year-old, who’s currently having a loan spell at Flamengo.

Now an update is brought by Bolavip, who besides claiming there are other European sides who want Kenedy, say the player is actually keen on staying in Rio de Janeiro.

The winger’s loan at Flamengo runs until June, and it’s said that his desire of continuing at the club is ‘explicit’. It’s also said he believes he can be bought from Chelsea in case he does well for the Brazilian club next year.

Reports from the Brazilian media have been claiming that Flamengo have a buying option of €10m over the Chelsea player.

That’s a considerable amount of money for them, and since Kenedy will only spend half of the season at the club in 2022, he’d certainly need to have a very impactful performance to convince them to spend that much.

Since joining them last summer, he’s had one goal and one assist in 18 appearances.
