The Argentine media continues to sound quite sober regarding Chelsea’s pursuit for Enzo Fernandez.

Olé, their biggest sports newspaper, today features a story about the Blues’ interest in the player, and claims things are slowly advancing.

Despite recent claims saying Chelsea already have a contract agreement with Fernandez, that was ruled out by a source heard by the outlet, who said: “Chelsea? For now it’s on point, but there isn’t any kind of fixed contract or anything like that. Calm”.

Still, Olé adds that Chelsea are ‘obsessed’ with the midfielder, as they ‘do not hide their intentions’ of making the signing and indeed lead the race despite the interest from other European clubs.

It’s interesting to see the Argentine media taking the rumour this way, because earlier today, journalist Cesar Luis Merlo also sounded positive about the talks, claiming a decision should be taken in the coming days.

That goes against what has been said in the Portuguese press, because following Fernandez’s absence in a couple of training sessions at Benfica, it was reported by a couple of newspapers on Tuesday that Chelsea could back down from their offer, trying to use the chaotic scenario to try a more advantageous deal.
