We now seem to be hitting a stage where Chelsea and Juventus look unlikely to find a deal for Romelu Lukaku and Dusan Vlahovic.

On Monday morning, it was TuttoMercatoWeb claiming that as the Serbian wasn’t convinced about joining the Blues, there was a ‘strong braking’ in the talks between clubs.

The news is now backed up by Sky Italia (via Tutto Juve), who say that negotiations between Chelsea and Juventus are at a ‘standstill’.

The outlet makes it clear that no news is expected in the coming days, and Lukaku should be considering other scenarios for the summer.

It’s said the exchange is an operation that Chelsea don’t seem to be currently considering, and they should have to look somewhere else to offload the striker.

With Tottenham reportedly emerging as a potential destination for Lukaku, it now seems simpler for the Blues to negotiate a transfer to the London side instead of continuing with the complicated talks with Juventus for the swap.

With just a couple of weeks until the end of the window, Chelsea certainly didn’t expect to find themselves in this situation with the Belgian forward.
