On Monday, many outlets in Brazil covered Nottingham Forest interest in Botafogo star Matheus Nascimento.

Following stories from the English media claiming the Reds would come strongly for the signing, there had been big noise around this potential deal.

It turns out that as website Premier League Brasil went after some information on Nottingham Forest’s chase, they claim that there was never big interest from the Reds in the signing.

The outlet features an exclusive story with sources telling them that the Tricky Trees never considered Nascimento one of their targets for the current window.

The club’s opinion is that the striker is ‘not ready for the Premier League’, as he needs a big physical evolution to be prepared for English football.

It’s also been claimed that Nascimento needs to ‘think faster’ and improve his decision making skills. So he’s seen as a player with potential who’s just being prepared for the big leagues.

Premier League Brasil says that Nottingham Forest’s opinion is the same about Santos wonderkid Marcos Leonardo. He’s also been linked to the Reds this summer, and there’s been doubts about him being ready for such a challenge.
