After enjoying a great couple of seasons at Inter under Antonio Conte, Romelu Lukaku could leave the Serie A side in the coming months to return to the Premier League.

That’s what the rumours would have you believe, with both Manchester City and Chelsea reportedly interested in signing the Belgium international in the summer.

The Cityzens’ need for a new striker is certainly not a secret following the announcement that Sergio Agüero would be leaving the club when his contract runs out at the end of the season, and bringing in the former Manchester United man to the Etihad would be both a middle finger to their rivals and a great purchase to ensure goals next season.

As for Chelsea, Tammy Abraham doesn’t appear to be in Thomas Tuchel’s plans, while Timo Werner’s consistency has been widely questioned during his first campaign at Stamford Bridge.

Furthermore, Lukaku already knows the London club well from his previous time there, so acclimatising to those surroundings shouldn’t be too difficult.

All this is well and good, but how feasible is a deal for the Belgian?

Leggo in Italy, who push both Manchester City’s and Chelsea’s interests in an article on Tuesday, reckon it might be quite difficult.

Despite Inter wanting to sell an important player from their squad to balance the books, it’s rather obvious that Antonio Conte wouldn’t be impressed if they decided Lukaku was the man to be shipped off.

He’s on the Italian’s list of players he would like to keep next season, and the price tag placed on him would put off 99% of clubs in the world.

Leggo explain that Inter would want somewhere along the lines of €120m for the forward, and it seems highly unlikely that either Chelsea or Manchester City would go that high for a player that isn’t called Erling Haaland in the coming months.
