On Wednesday, Foot Mercato reported Chelsea hope to complete a deal for Montpellier star Elye Wahi this week. It was also said the west London club want to then send him out on loan to RC Strasbourg, a club recently acquired by the Blues’ owners.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side had already made progress in negotiations over a potential deal for the striker. They seem to be planning to take further steps to secure his services.

That’s according to RMC Sport, who explain that Chelsea ‘should make an offer’ of €32m with bonuses included for the 20-year-old.

The France U21 international starred for Montpellier last season, scoring 19 goals and registering six assists from 33 league games.

The Premier League side’s idea is to let him continue his development in his home country, at Strasbourg. It’s claimed the youngster, for now, is not in favour of joining them on loan.

RMC Sport add talks will continue between Chelsea, Montpellier and Wahi in the ‘coming days’. Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are also showing interest in Wahi and have asked about him.

L’Equipe stated yesterday that Crystal Palace have made a verbal offer to sign the player. Therefore, the Blues will have to act fast if they wish to close the deal for Wahi.
