One of the stars of the tournament up until his country’s dramatic exit at the hands of Portugal, Croatia’s Ivan Perisic has certainly made a name for himself.
Bought by Inter Milan last year, the 27-year-old had a rather prolific season for the Italian club, and now bigger and richer clubs are vying for his signature.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Chelsea are in the lead in the race to sign him, but both Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have also considered making a move for him.
This is all well and good, but there’s one thing none of these clubs have apparently considered, and that is if the player wants to move.
According to his agent, that isn’t the case, as Tonci Martic said: “He’s an Inter Milan player, and is happy in Milan. He has no intention of leaving and wants to stay to win with his current club. Maybe the club want to sell him, but that’s a different discussion altogether.”
With the transfer window yet to enter its full swing, there are still a lot of twists and turns to come over the next couple of months, and we wouldn’t be surprised if one of them involved Ivan Perisic.
The Croatian winger scored 10 goals and picked up seven assists for Inter Milan last year in 41 appearances in all competitions.
