Burnley star Manuel Benson is in talks to extend his contract with the club, according to reports from Belgium.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri comes up to Twitter with exclusive news saying the winger is ready to ‘delight’ Clarets’ fans for a few more years.

It’s claimed there are ‘advanced talks’ ongoing with Burnley for the deal to be extended, although there are no further details on this new deal yet.

It’s been just a year since the Clarets signed Benson, with the English club spending €4m to buy him from Royal Antwerp.

In his only season for Burnley, the Belgian had 14 goals and four assists in 37 appearances, being of big help for their Championship title which brought them back to the Premier League.

With the club now having new standards, it’s only fair that besides making new signings, they reward the stars in their squad as well.

Benson’s current deal with the Clarets runs until 2026, and we now shall see what the new expiry date will be, although the renewal may be more focused on a pay rise than anything else.
