Burnley are reportedly interested in Barcelona goalkeeper Arnau Tenas.

The chase is today revealed by Catalan outlet Sport, who claims the Clarets are ‘very aware’ of the 22-year-old’s situation.

Tenas’ contract with Barça expires in a few days, and since the club’s clause for a renewal expired, they can only hope he will agree to a new contract with them.

Many clubs are said to be interested in the situation, and Burnley are one of them. It’s said it was Vincent Kompany who told the Clarets they need a new goalkeeper.

Sport points out that Tenas has ‘good footwork’ and would be quite helpful for a manager who works to ‘apply a style of play similar to that of Barça’.

The 22-year-old’s situation at the Camp Nou is still to be negotiated, and in case the La Liga giants fail to hold onto him, then it’s said it’s ‘very likely’ Burnley will come forward with an offer.

Tenas has been at Barcelona’s since his early days as a player, and despite being taken to the bench a few times, he never made his professional debut for them.
