Earlier this month, we covered a claim from Spain that Brighton & Hove Albion have already made contact with Sevilla to know the conditions needs to sign Juanlu Sánchez.

Brighton have to be wary about Real Madrid, who have set their sights on the 20-year-old.

That’s according to ABC Sevilla, who mention Brighton in a report that focuses on the La Liga side’s admiration for the player.

The Spain U21 international has been mainly used as a right-back this season, while he has operated on the right wing in the past. He has also been deployed as a wing-back and even in midfield on a few occasions in his short career so far.

Los Blancos value his versatility and their scouts will continue to keep an eye on him. With regards to Brighton, the newspaper points out that they had made contact with Sevilla a few weeks ago.

The report adds the Seagulls are ‘very attentive’ to Juanlu Sánchez and have been handling reports on his progress ever since he made his first team debut for Sevilla.

Juanlu Sánchez’s current deal [lasts until 2025] and has a €25m release clause valid for January. ABC Sevilla say the clause will drop to €15m after the winter market.
