Last November, Brighton & Hove Albion’s Jakub Moder returned to the pitch after spending more than a year on the sidelines.

The midfielder suffered a serious knee injury in April 2022 and even though he returned to training towards the end of the last season, he had to wait until November 25th to feature for the Seagulls.

Since then, the Poland international has made four more substitute appearances in the league and even started in Brighton’s FA Cup win over Stoke City.

Wednesday’s Super Express claims the 24-year-old is slowly getting back on track, after closing the ‘unlucky chapter’. The national team are hoping to rely on him for the Euro 2024 play-off clash against Estonia in March.

With regards to his return, the player initially started with Brighton’s reserve team before Roberto De Zerbi gave him opportunities in the first team.

Former Hertha striker Piotr Reiss claims his compatriot isn’t held back by the long spell on the sidelines and backed him to have more opportunities at the Premier League side.

“It’s a good sign because it shows that the Brighton authorities still believe in him. It’s clear that everything is well thought out in his case. That’s why I think that Moder will get more and more opportunities, that he will get the minutes he needs,” he told Super Express.

The newspaper have backed Moder to become the ‘king of midfield’ later this season and Reiss also shares the same view.

“I predict that April and May will be his months. Coach Michał Probierz is rejuvenating the squad. In my opinion, Kuba is the perfect player to be the king of the midfield in the national team. His advantages include physical conditions, efficiency, field overview, passing and hitting. He is the future of the national team. We have to focus on such players,” Reiss explained.
