Leeds United and Brentford need to be wary that duo Georginio Rutter and Kevin Schade will be looking to use them as stepping stones in the Premier League.

That’s according to journalist Tim Brack for RAN, who covers both players today and how the Premier League’s mid-table teams are also now spending big.

Schade completed a loan move to Brentford earlier this month which is likely to be made a permanent one in the summer for €25m thanks to a clause in the deal.

Rutter, meanwhile, is closing in on a move to Leeds United, who have struck a deal with Hoffenheim for the forward, who has already travelled for a medical at Elland Road.

Both deals are a demonstration that even ‘smaller Premier League teams’ have ‘bulging money stores’ these days, which is good news for Bundesliga clubs as they need the money.

They are ‘happy’ to pick up the phone when it is clear a call is coming in from England because the people at the other end of the line ‘have a lot of money and like to spend it’.

That’s certainly been the case with Leeds and Brentford, who have spent big to secure the signings of Rutter and Schade this month.

The Premier League duo will need to be wary, though, as those two players ‘want to recommend themselves’ to the ‘bigger English clubs’ and show that they can withstand the rigours of the Premier League.

In their case, the Bundesliga has just been the ‘stepping stone for the stepping stone’ and they will be looking to move on if they can succeed at their new clubs.

Whether they can remains to be seen but it’s something Leeds and Brentford will seemingly need to be wary of moving forwards.
