Multiple Brazilian outlets continue breaking news about Philippe Coutinho’s situation at Liverpool, and the latest updates really make it sound like the player is leaving.
It’s now the blog Ora Bolas, from Goal Brasil, claiming that Barcelona are set to announce the signing in the next few hours.
Representatives of Coutinho are currently in the Catalan city to close the deal, according to the claims, and Barça would pay Liverpool €90m up front with another possible €30m in bonuses.
Coutinho would have decided to join Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez last weekend, and should be signing a five-year contract with the La Liga side.
This morning, two Brazilian outlets had exclusive news about Coutinho.
ESPN Brasil claimed the player asked Jurgen Klopp to let him leave Liverpool. And UOL, despite having claims from yesterday saying the midfielder’s bags were packed, had an update claiming Liverpool won’t sell him.
Once again, this continues to depend on Liverpool. They have every right and ability to refuse a sale, and a fee of €90m, even with added bonuses, isn’t quite so blockbuster to leave only one answer.
Brazil claims may now believe an announcement is imminent, as far as Barcelona plan things, but that needs Liverpool’s agreement.
