It’s finally time for the Brazilian press to have a take on Thiago Silva’s situation with Paris Saint Germain.

Despite recent reports from the European media saying the defender has already agreed to a contract with Chelsea, website UOL takes it easy with their update today.

They say the Blues are indeed the ‘most likely destination’, but Thiago Silva is still evaluating other possibilities he has for his future.

UOL says he wants to get to the 2022 World Cup still playing for an ‘elite European club’, and that’s why it’s so important to sign a contract of at least two years.

Chelsea’s offer is said to be close to what he wants in wages, and as the negotiations go on, he looks for the other options on the table.

According to UOL, there’s the interest from Everton and Fiorentina, while a return to Brazilian side Fluminense is nearly ruled out.

Something quite interesting mentioned in the report is the small chance of Thiago Silva staying in Paris. It’s said that PSG and Thomas Tuchel liked the way the player behaved during his last months at the club.

Even though players like Edinson Cavani and Thomas Meunier chose to leave at the end of their contracts, the Brazilian did his best to renew his deal for a couple of months and play until the end of the season.

However, Thiago Silva doesn’t want to lower his salary or sign a one-year deal, and that’s what makes his stay in France so difficult.
