On Thursday evening, Manchester City striker Nahuel Bustos announced that he’s returning to the club.

The player had joined São Paulo in the summer, and he was supposed to spend a year there, but suddenly had his spell cut short at the Brazilian side.

As journalist Jorge Nicola now covers this news, he claims it was Bustos himself who asked to return to Manchester City.

It’s said the player had problems with São Paulo manager Rogério Ceni, who has a ‘terrible’ relationship with multiple footballers in the squad.

Bustos hadn’t been used much by the coach, having only nine appearances for the club, during which he scored one goal. According to Nicola, Rogério Ceni had a special motivation to keep the player out of the team, as the striker was signed without his approval. The 24-year-old returns to Manchester City, where he has a contract running until 2025.

It’d be no surprise to see another player going the same way soon, because Nahuel Ferraresi, who made the same move this summer, only has ten appearances for São Paulo. Nicola says the defender was also not a signing requested by the manager, so let’s wait and see what happens to him.
