Bournemouth forwards Hamed Jr Traorè’s debut for Napoli has been delayed as the Italian side have concerns over his physical state.

That’s according to Spazio Napoli, who cover the player to day and ‘multiple sources’ covering how his debut has been delayed for his new club.

Traorè joined Napoli on loan from Bournemouth earlier this month after something of a disastrous year with the Cherries in which he’s barely played and spent months out of action after a bout of malaria.

The hope is that he can kick back into gear back in Italy and the deal that took him to the Italian champions includes a right to buy him from Bournemouth if he proves to be a success.

The problems is that his debut still seems to be some way off, with Spazio Napoli reporting that the player is ‘out of condition’.

He’s only played three games in the Premier League this season, the last of which came in November, after which he was diagnosed with malaria and kept out of action until December.

Because of this Napoli are concerned about his physical state and in all likelihood, it may take a couple of weeks, perhaps even a month before they can use Traorè properly and see him at his best.

The Italian’s believe he effectively needs a second pre-season to get fit before he can be a viable option for Walter Mazzarri, which is presumably not what they were anticipating when they moved so quickly to get him from Bournemouth earlier this month.
