Birmingham City are interested in a deal for Werder Bremen’s Oliver Burke and have already been in touch about a possible transfer.

That’s according to BILD, who say the Scottish winger is ‘about to leave’ the German side just a year after his arrival.

The newspaper reports that Birmingham ‘want to buy’ Burke this summer and have him on their list of targets as they look to bolster their squad.

Indeed, according to their information, the Blues have already asked those responsible in Bremen about a deal.

The German side’s response is not mentioned but it’s believed that they won’t stand in Burke’s way if he wishes to depart. His exit could be covered by the arrival of Dawid Kownacki and returnees Justin Njinmah and Nick Woltemade.

A sale to Birmingham would also put some money into the club’s coffers, with Burke currently valued at €2.5m.

He’s been with the German side since 2021 and had made a solid start to life with them but that soon fell away and ended up on loan at Millwall in January but struggled to impress there.

Now he could be on his way to Birmingham City, who are said to be keen and have been in touch about making a move possible.
