Chelsea may turn their attention to Inter Milan in their hunt for a replacement for N’Golo Kanté with the Frenchman set to leave on a free in the summer.

That’s according to FC Inter News, who say the Blues could continue to pilfer Inter Milan for stars as they seek to replace the French star.

They explain that first it was Romelu Lukaku who was taken away and in January it looks likely to be Denzel Dumfries as Chelsea have had their eye on him for some time.

The truth is that Todd Boehly and the Nerazzurri’s strategies have become ‘clearly intertwined’ and that could lead Chelsea to turn to them again.

It all starts with Kanté’s contract, which expires in June next year and will not be renewed, leaving Graham Potter and co with a significant vacancy to fill.

That will have to be done next summer and the first choice for the position would be Alexis Mac Allister, who Potter knows from Brighton and recently shone for Argentina at the World Cup.

However, if Brighton are unwilling to do a deal for one of their star men, then Chelsea ‘would turn their gaze’ to Milan instead.

That’s a path which has been ‘widely beaten’ by both sides in recent months so there is a feeling that negotiations could be smooth and easy if Chelsea were to look for them.

There’s no mention of which Inter player they could target, just a belief that if they need to find a replacement for Kanté as expected, then they may end up looking at the Italian club once again.
