With a few clubs, including Manchester United, reportedly interested in Eric Choupo-Moting, currently at Bayern Munich, the Bavarian side are preparing for the worst.

Having already lost Robert Lewandowski in the summer, the Bundesliga giants have had to rely on the Cameroon international more often than not, but his contract expires in the summer.

This has made him attractive for many clubs in January, which is why Bayern Munich are looking at Liverpool for a potential replacement.

This is because the Reds have a player in a similar situation as Choupo-Moting in Roberto Firmino, whose contract at Anfield expires in the summer.

There have been reports the Brazilian wouldn’t mind extending at Liverpool, but he will take his time to evaluate what his future can bring him.

Media Foot in France suggest that could include a transfer back to Germany, where he initially made a name for himself at Hoffenheim.

The outlet explain the Liverpool forward ‘is among the profiles studied’ by the Bundesliga side, where he could also team up with Sadio Mané once again.

The Senegal international left Anfield in the summer after six years in England for a fee of €32m, but hasn’t quite managed to find the same form, scoring 11 goals in 23 games, as well as picking up four assists.

As for Firmino, we doubt the fee required would be anywhere near that with just six months left on his contract.
