Already invested in two clubs, Chien Lee is looking to put money in a third after selling Nice to Englishman Jim Ratcliffe back in August 2019.

The American entrepreneur is currently the co-chairman of Barnsley FC, who were recently promoted back to the Championship, and has money placed in Swiss club FC Thun.

Well, according to Le10 Sport, Lee is now looking to expand his portfolio once more, staying in France, with Troyes in Ligue 2 his target.

The Barnsley co-chairman is reportedly in talks with the current owner, Daniel Masoni, with the deal ‘moving in the right direction’, even if ‘nothing has been signed yet’.

The French website report the deal could be concluded at somewhere between €8-10m, which could be a huge boost for the club as they try and find their way back to the top-tier.

They currently sit fifth in Ligue 2, and there will be hoping Lee’s investment and experience with such clubs, like Barnsley, will help them achieve similar results to their second place in League One last year.

However, if they do return to Ligue 1, they will be hoping their first season back in the league above goes better than what the Tykes are currently doing in the Championship, as Gerhard Struber tries to steer them away from the 24th (and last) spot.
