On September 17th, we covered a report from Catalan newspaper Sport, who claimed that Everton, Manchester United and Barcelona were ‘interested’ in signing PSV Eindhoven’s Hirving Lozano.

The Eredivisie winners will take on Ernesto Valverde’s side in the Champions League group stage clash at Camp Nou on Tuesday and the 23-year-old spoke to the media on the eve of the match.

He was asked if there was an approach from the Spanish champions in the summer and the Mexican stressed that his agent informed him about a contact from the Blaugrana. The player also went on to reveal he would be open to the idea of joining them.

“My agent told me there was interest from Barca. It would be a dream to come to this club, but right now I am focused on PSV and enjoying my football,” the PSV star said.

Mundo Deportivo’s Barcelona source ‘doesn’t deny’ Barcelona having a transfer chat, but it’s also claimed his chances of joining the club in the summer were minimal.

Having said that, the newspaper suggests his signing for the La Liga winners should not be ruled out in the future.
