When Manchester United decided to loan Mason Greenwood to Getafe at the start of the season, it just seemed clear they were getting rid of a player who wouldn’t be used by the club.

It turns out that with the winger having eight goals and five assists this season so far, his form on display at the La Liga side has started to draw some attention from big clubs, as also reported by the English media.

Catalan outlet Sport today shares an exclusive story claiming Greenwood has now entered a list of potential signings that Barcelona have for next season.

It’s said the Manchester United player is considered a ‘low-cost option’, and Barça have ‘already made a move’ for his signing by asking about his situation.

There’s no accurate information on how much his signing would cost, but it’s just made clear that many clubs know it wouldn’t take a lot to get him from the Red Devils, as his return to Old Trafford is practically ruled out.

At no point do Sport mentions the reasons for it, completely ignoring the charges faced by the player which ended his chances of playing for Manchester United.

It’s just said that the Red Devils are interested in Barcelona’s academy, so the Catalan side could make the operation cheaper by offering some youngsters in the deal.
