Manchester United have only scored more than one goal in a match on one occasion this season.

Strengthening the attacking division in the coming windows will be a priority for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the Red Devils.

FcInterNews claims the Premier League side are looking to bring in a new striker for next season and have Red Bull Salzburg’s Erling Braut Håland and Inter’s Lautaro Martínez at the top of their list.

Apart from United, Martínez is also on Barcelona’s transfer list and has a €111m release clause in his San Siro contract. His current asking price doesn’t seem an issue for top European clubs.

Any approach from Manchester United or Barca for the 22-year-old will not be easy because Inter are now working towards offering the Argentine a new deal which will see a rise in his wages and buyout clause.

Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio will meet Martínez’s agent Beto Yaqué in the coming weeks to find a satisfactory resolution. The player is not only important for the present, but also for the future.

Martínez has six goals and made two assists in 11 appearances this season.
