Italy’s TMW appear to have lost the transfer plot.

On Wednesday evening they claim Aston Villa have made an approach for Barcelona’s Yerry Mina.

The Catalan club are keen to see the back of the Colombian and haven’t been convinced since he arrived at the club in the January transfer window.

Mina’s excellent World Cup has helped to raise interest and encouraged Barcelona to believe they can get more than previously for him, with the Catalan media today pushing the asking price up to €40m.

The same Catalan claims stated Mina is holding offers from Lyon and Everton off because he’s waiting to see if Manchester United submit their own proposal.

So, in the middle of all this, TMW throw Aston Villa in.

It’s claimed the Championship club have made an offer worth a total of €20m.

That would see €10m being paid by Villa initially and a further €10m in future bonus payments.

It’s completely bizarre.
