Wesley Moraes’ future is likely to be away from Aston Villa, according to reports.

Dean Smith’s side took the striker from Club Brugge in 2019 and he suffered a serious knee injury last January, which kept him out of action for the rest of 2020.

The Brazilian is yet to return to the first team and since he regained full fitness, he has been restricted to two appearances in the Premier League 2.

While the 24-year-old is working gaining match rhythm, Ollie Watkins’ arrival from Brentford last summer has made it even more difficult for Wesley to get back into Smith’s plans.

According to Voetbal24, the South American will not be the first-choice striker for the Premier League side anytime soon as Villa are expected to continue betting on Watkins for the next season.

Therefore, the former Club Brugge man ‘has to find a solution’ for himself as the ‘British sources report’ there is a ‘very real chance’ the player will return to the Jupiler Pro League in the next market.

It’s to be noted Voetbal24 doesn’t clarify if the ‘British sources’ mentioned means they have received original information from Great Britain or if they have citing reports made in the English press.

Wesley’s fine displays for Club Brugge during the 2018/19 season helped him get a move to Aston Villa and returning to Belgium in the summer could be vital in helping him regain his best form.
