Aston Villa have made a ‘lucrative offer’ to Borussia Dortmund defender Thomas Meunier, who the German side want rid of this summer.

That’s according to BILD, who say Dortmund are willing to sell the Belgian for as little as €3m, a bargain price that is tempting the Villans.

The newspaper reports that BVB are finally going to ‘get rid’ of Meunier this summer as he no longer plays a role under Edin Terzic.

Juventus, AC Milan and Inter are all ‘hot on’ the Belgium international and he ‘wants to leave as soon as possible’ but whether that is to Italy remains to be seen.

That’s because Aston Villa have made him a ‘lucrative offer’ to move to the Premier League instead as they build under Unai Emery this summer.

What the nature of their offer is, isn’t made clear, but BILD say that the defender can be available on the cheap.

His market value has plummeted from €40m to €5m but Dortmund don’t even want the latter price and would be willing to let Meunier go for ‘around €3m’.  Thus, the defender is ‘becoming a bargain’.

The German side are keen to get rid as Meunier has an annual salary of €8.5m, making him one of the higher earners in the squad despite the fact he is unwanted and not in the club’s plans.

That’s why they’re happy to get rid for a low fee, something it seems Aston Villa are looking to take advantage of.
