Italian newspaper Tuttosport today features a story speaking of the Premier League’s interest in Juventus midfielder Federeico Chiesa.

It turns out that despite mentioning a few clubs who recently became interested in the 25-year-old, the outlet highlights Aston Villa’s interest in the player.

Tuttosport explains that Liverpool and Newcastle have both been chasing the player, as the Reds’ pursuit ‘never faded’ and the Magpies had followed him even before going for Sandro Tonali.

Aston Villa, however, are the club who have actually made ‘concrete steps’ to sign Chiesa.

For some reason, though, it’s claimed that the Villans’ effort ‘does not convince’ the player, and Juventus will be monitoring the situation from now on.

Chiesa is trying to bring back his best form with the Old Lady, and struggles to recover his starting place in the team, it’s said the ‘most convenient alternative’ would be his departure in this transfer window.

Last week, we saw Sky Italia claiming that Aston Villa are ‘ready to offer’ €60m for the midfielder. The problem is that he’s not ‘enthusiastic’ about joining Unai Emery’s side, so that should be an issue to be solved.
