Aston Villa are interested signing Wolfsburg midfielder Anton Donkor, according to claims in the German media. Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce will be looking to add to his squad in this transfer window, and the young German is an option.
Despite training with the senior team, the midfielder has been informed by the Wolfsburg coaching staff he won’t be involved in first team games. Aston Villa could subsequently look to take advantage of his situation with the Bundesliga club and offer him a chance to come to England.
Donkor came through the Wolfsburg youth system, but is still waiting to make his debut for the senior team. This season Donkor has been involved with the German side’s reserve team, making 12 appearances. He’a also represented Germany at all youth levels.
The youngster can play on both wings and also in central midfield, a versatility which may be beneficial to Aston Villa.
