The Italian media today shares very optimistic updates on Aston Villa’s chase for Nicolo Zaniolo.

CalcioMercato.it share an exclusive story saying the Villans are moving forward ‘with confidence’, as the talks for the signing are ‘very hot’.

With Zaniolo not being called up for today’s match, that’s taken as a sign that he should soon be off from Galatasaray.

Aston Villa are said to be in close contact with the Turkish side to find an agreement. Their first offer, considering a loan, the right to buy and a bonus, was below the amount requested by the Istanbul club.

It turns out that the talks with the player seem so advanced that CalcioMercato.it even share his potential salary, claiming he’d make €3.5m per season, with bonuses included, at the Premier League side.

That figure may well be after tax, which is how football wages are often reported in the Italian media.

It’s made clear that the clubs are in a very important time of the negotiations, and an agreement could soon be closed if the offer goes up, or the request goes down.

It’s said that despite Zaniolo’s move to Turkey in January, he continues to dream of playing in the Premier League.
